GI-MAP (Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus)
Comprehensive panel for intestinal microorganism analysis, immune and digestive markers
Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP) is an innovative clinical tool that measures the DNA of the gastrointestinal microbiota from a single stool sample, using modern qPCR (quantitative polymerase chain reaction) technology.
The GI-MAP test was designed to detect microorganisms that can disrupt the balance of the intestinal microbiota or contribute to the onset of certain conditions, as well as to evaluate indicators of:
- digestion
- nutrient absorption
- inflammation
- immune system function
In the case of microbiology culture-based tests, strict anaerobes, viruses, or virulence factors cannot be measured. GI-MAP overcomes these limitations.
The accuracy and reliability of the GI-MAP test allow for the development of personalized treatment protocols for intestinal dysfunctions, depending on:
- infections requiring urgent intervention
- areas of the intestinal tract already functioning optimally
- aspects to be addressed after an infection has been resolved
Additionally, quantification of identified microorganisms allows for monitoring treatment effectiveness. Repeating the test after therapy can show, for example, if:
- a parasite has been eliminated
- intestinal dysbiosis has improved
- microbiota balance has improved
Indications
The test may be useful in the following situations:
- autoimmune molecular mimicry (if caused by pathogens)
- diarrhea
- digestive problems
- foodborne illnesses
- gastritis
- gastroenteritis (especially of viral origin)
- intestinal dysbiosis
- immune system evaluation
- intestinal inflammation
- suspected bacterial, parasitic, or viral infections (including detection of antibiotic-resistant bacteria)
The OMX™ Organic Metabolomics Test
Offers a comprehensive analysis of metabolites in urine, including organic acids, amino acids, and other biochemical markers. The panel is designed to reflect activity in key metabolic pathways such as mitochondrial energy production, amino acid turnover, nutrient utilization, detoxification processes, and microbial metabolism. Results are organized into categories based on metabolic pathways to provide a clear picture of metabolic relationships and potential imbalances.
The test can be clinically useful when investigating patterns associated with fatigue, low mood, cognitive changes, physical discomfort, or stress adaptability. By evaluating metabolites related to mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter pathways, B vitamin utilization, oxidative stress, and amino acid metabolism, the profile can highlight areas where biochemical processes are under increased demand. The pathway-organized structure allows for the interpretation of interconnected trends, not just isolated markers.
OMX™ offers a structured way to assess metabolic function and nutritional status, supporting clinical interpretation in complex or multi-system affected cases. The wide range of included markers provides a detailed picture of metabolic signatures that may be associated with energy production, mood, physical comfort, or general biochemical balance.
